“Dawn Rose” – Aurora Opal Pendant

This stunning statement pendant is ready to help you turn heads at your next Renaissance Faire or fantasy gala. It shifts from more subtle shades of pink, purple, and turquoise in shade and indoor light, but in the sun it glows with fiery orange and magenta tones. Delicate pink seed beads add a hint of subtle sparkle.

Aurora opal is one of my favorite stones to work with. It is a manmade opal that has bold, sweeping gradients of color like an aurora borealis, hence the name. The cabochons in this pendant are called “doublets” and consist of a layer of aurora opal covered by a thicker protective layer of glass. Because of the protective glass, these cabochons are much more durable than any opal would be alone, suitable for daily wear! It is important to avoid exposing this piece to water as it can dull the shine of the opal.

This double stone pendant is a recreation of a design I first made a year ago. If you’ve seen me vending at in-person events, you’ve seen me wearing the original version!
