Materials & Sensitivities
- All of the materials I use in my jewelrymaking are nickel-free. My copper wire is 99% pure copper and my brass wire is 85% copper, 15% zinc.
- The majority of my earwires are stainless steel plated with nickel-free brass and copper plating. Some of my earwires are handmade from the same copper I use in my jewelry. I apply a hypoallergenic clear coat to copper earwires to prevent tarnishing and contact with skin.
- Sterling silver and surgical steel earwires are available for people who have concerns about skin sensitivities. Please add them to your order under the Add-Ons section of my shop.
- Copper and brass will naturally tarnish over time, developing a patina the same way that sterling silver does. This coating can sometimes rub off on skin, leading to concerns about these materials turning fingers green. This will not happen to everyone; whether or not patina rubs off is dependent on the pH of a person’s sweat as well as environmental factors like humidity and moisture.
- If this does happen, the patina is harmless and can be washed off the skin with soap and water. If you are particularly concerned about this, I am happy to apply a clear coat to exposed parts of my pieces. Please note that areas near stones and tight corners will still pick up a patina and will need to be cleaned in order to maintain a uniform appearance.
Shipping & Returns
- I ship using USPS First Class Package Service. I currently am only shipping within the continental United States.
- I aim to ship all orders within three to five business days of purchase, but there may be occasions where I am traveling and turnaround times for shipping might be longer. I appreciate patience during those times but if you are concerned about shipping time feel free to reach out to me via email.
- If an item is backordered, please allow an additional one to two weeks turnaround time for the fulfilment of your order.
- I am a one-person operation and strive to keep my prices as accessible as possible for my customers. For this reason, I am unable to offer returns and all sales are final. However, if you are unhappy with your order, please reach out via email; it is possible that I might be able offer an exchange or store credit at my discretion. Return shipping on any exchanges must be paid by the customer.
- If I make a mistake in the shipping process (wrong item, wrong size, etc), I will of course make it right! Please reach out via email.
Custom Orders
- I accept custom orders on a case-by-case basis. To inquire about a custom order, please reach out via email.
- I require full payment upfront before I will begin work on custom orders.
- If you would like me to use your own stone in a piece, I can usually accomodate! We will discuss the suitability of customer-supplied stones during the initial commission setup. In general, stones with flat backs, beads, and irregular crystals can all be used and I am comfortable wrapping a variety of unusual shapes; I have wrapped sharks’ teeth, shells, river pebbles, and polyhedral dice to name a few. However, not all shapes are suitable for all styles and we will work together to determine if I can make the design you want from the materials you are supplying. The commissioner is responsible for the cost and packaging of shipping personal stones to my PO Box.
- Other stone selection options include choosing from stones I have available in my personal supply, or purchasing a stone online and having it shipped to my PO Box.
- Please allow six to eight weeks turnaround time on custom orders. They may be completed faster depending on my workload, the design complexity, and other material factors. If you have a deadline, I will try my best to accommodate it but cannot make guarantees.
- Due to the nature of the work, all sales are final on custom orders. I do not offer refunds once I have begun working on a commission.
A Note on Sterling Silver
- Sterling silver is currently at record high prices. As of February 2026, it is trading at over $100 an ounce and has more than tripled in price within the span of a year, with prices expected to rise as high as $200 per ounce. This is due to increasing demand for use in consumer electronics and AI as well as global tariffs.
- I work with sterling and am happy to discuss using sterling in custom orders. Please be aware that the price I quote for custom work in sterling will be much higher than it would be in copper, brass, or silver plate. Quotes will be based on the price of sterling at the time of inquiry and will reflect the real material cost. Quotes for sterling must be accepted within five days or the quoted price will no longer be valid.
- The price of sterling will also be reflected in the price of sterling silver earwires, which are the only sterling item in my regular stock.
